You do not have to be local to get good help

We started out helping people face to face across the Calder Valley, and we still do. But a lot of what causes stress, a document that will not behave, a scam email, a video call that will not connect, an account you are locked out of, can be sorted just as well over a video call. So now we help people right across the United Kingdom, fully remotely, with exactly the same patience and plain English. You stay in your own home, on your own device, and we sit alongside you down the line.

Common questions about remote support

Can you help me if I do not live in the Calder Valley?
Yes. Our remote tech support works anywhere in the United Kingdom. We help people over a video call, so it does not matter whether you are in Hebden Bridge, Pontefract, London or rural Scotland. You get the same patient, jargon free help wherever you are.
Do you offer tech support over a video call?
Yes. Most remote sessions run over WhatsApp video or a screen share. You show us what is on your screen and we guide you through the fix step by step, out loud, at your pace. You keep control of your own device the whole time.
Can you fix my computer remotely without coming to my house?
In most cases, yes. Software problems, settings, email, document formatting, scam checks, video calls and account recovery can almost all be sorted remotely. If a problem genuinely needs hands on a machine, we will tell you honestly and help you find the right next step.
I have an iPad. Can you still help me remotely?
Yes. An iPad cannot be remotely controlled by anyone, which is good for your security, so instead we guide you by voice over a video call while you show us the screen. We recommend iPad Pros to our clients, and we are very used to working this way.
Can you help an older person, or someone with a condition like Parkinson's, remotely?
Yes, and gently. We work with older clients and with people who find precise tapping or typing difficult. We slow right down, name every step, and we never rush or judge. If a tremor makes a touchscreen hard, we can suggest simple aids like a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard that make everything easier.
My Microsoft Word is misbehaving. Can you sort it over a call?
Almost always, yes. Text turning red, chapters repeating, formatting going wrong, files that will not behave: these are common and fixable. We have helped writers get a stuck manuscript back on track over a single video call.
Is remote tech support safe?
Yes. You stay in control of your own device throughout. If a screen share is ever used, you can see everything we do and end it instantly, and we show you how before we start. We are DBS checked, insured and GDPR compliant, and we will never ask for a password we do not need or call a number that has popped up on your screen.
How much does remote tech support cost?
The same honest rates as our in person visits. Troubleshooting is £30 an hour, and technology tutoring is £30 for the first hour. We start with a free, no obligation chat so you only go ahead if it feels right.
